A young boy and his father were out sailing one day as they had done many times before. As usual, the boy asked if he could steer the boat.
Feeling as though it was time, his father allowed the young boy to steer the boat.
The boy jumped into place and was absolutely thrilled with finally getting to steer the boat. His father asked, "How do you think you're doing?", and the boy said "I'm doing great, this is easy.".
His father asked him to turn around and look at the wake left behind them. The boy did and noticed the wake was curvy and it appeared his sailing had been erratic. He said, "What am I doing wrong?". His father replied, "Son, don't look just in front of the boat... see that lighthouse over there? Fix your eyes on that, and your path will be true.".
This works in our lives as well. Jesus is the lighthouse. Set your eyes on Him and your path will be true too.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
